Epidemiological study on dental caries in schoolchildren: A cross-sectional study

This paper aimed to describe the prevalence of dental caries in Quilombola schoolchildren aged 5 12 years using DEF-T (decayed, extracted and filled teeth) DMF-T missing indices. A cross-sectional study. The sample consisted 47 schoolchildren, between old, both sexes, a municipal school located community Tocantins state (Brazil). participants underwent clinical oral examination, performed by dentist. Despite relatively low rates (DEF-T at 1.5 1.24), was 78.72%, being higher males than females. In addition, only 5.4% with some experience received restorative treatment. conclusion, while DEF-T/DMF-T index 2.85 (± 2.84) for females, 3.71 3.52) males.
