ESCC is leading types in North and Northeast regions India among both genders. Risk factors include tobacco, alcohol, areca nut, hot beverages, low fruit diet, poor oral hygiene, unpiped water, human papillomavirus infection. This review tries to elaborate on various modifiable risk for ESCC, which have been studied worldwide need be India. PubMed was used as a search platform using keywords, such “esophagus cancer,” carcinoma,” “epidemiology,” “India,” “incidence,” “mortality,” “risk factors,” “treatment,” “survival,” “prevention” their corresponding Medical Subject Heading terms, were combination with Boolean operators “OR” “AND.” Studies from are mostly hospital-based case-control studies region. Further research required understand etiology, design large-scale screening prevention strategies.

Barrett's esophagus (BE), consequence of chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), is a premalignant condition, capable of turning into adenocarcinoma (ACa). However, the presence ofsquamous cell carcinoma (SCa) coexisting with Barrett's metaplasia is reported in some papers. The aim of this paper is to present 17 patients involving synchronous BE and SCa.
متن کاملSquamous Cell Carcinoma and Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Colliding in the Esophagus
A collision tumor consists of two independent neoplasms growing in close proximity until they become juxtaposed, appearing as one lesion. This is a very rare situation with unclear physiopathology. Collision tumors should be distinguished from composite tumors, which consist of one neoplastic clone that diverges into two cell lineages. Collisions located in the esophagus are particularly uncommon.

Patients with ESCC (squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus) are most commonly diagnosed with locally advanced tumor stages. Early metastatic disease and late diagnosis are common reasons responsible for this tumor's poor clinical outcome. The prognosis of esophageal cancer is very poor because patients usually do not have symptoms in early disease stages. Squamous cell carcinoma of the esopha...
متن کاملExpression of deltaNp63 in squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus.
BACKGROUND The p63 gene is present as two isoforms, namely TAp63 and deltaNp63. The biological role of deltaNp63 in the progression of esophageal cancer is still controversial. PATIENTS AND METHODS The expression of deltaNp63, as well as that of p63, was immunohistochemically examined in 61 resected specimens of squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus. RESULTS The incidences of a positive ...
