Samenvatting Eosinofiele cystitis (EC) is een zeldzame vorm van blaasontsteking die wordt gekenmerkt door ontsteking met infiltratie eosinofiele granulocyten in alle lagen de blaaswand. De incidentie en epidemiologie zijn onbekend. Voornaamste etiologische factoren allergische aanleg trauma (operatie/instrumentatie) blaas. diagnostiek bestaat uit cystoscopie biopten blaaswand, urine- bloedonderzoeken, aangevuld echo nieren om obstructie (dilatatie) hoge urinewegen te sluiten. Als therapie worden corticosteroïden gecombineerd antihistaminica NSAID’s gebruikt, bij therapieresistentie IL‑5 remmers. In het laatste geval of recidieven kunnen meerdere opeenvolgende behandelingen noodzakelijk zijn, als stap cystectomie.
