چکیده

The multilocational studies were conducted to evaluate 21 hybrids of tomato in Pratapgarh(Uttar Pradesh), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) and Burdwan (West Bengal), India during August–February 2015–16 2016–17. Data on four quality traits viz., total soluble solids, titrable acidity, carotene content lycopene estimated. Combined analysis variance (ANOVA) revealed significant effects locations, genotypes, genotype-location interaction parents vs hybrids-location for all the traits. significance combining ability (general specific ability) their with location environmental influences Present study indicated higher estimates , lower heritability GCA/SCA ratio traitsandthereby implied preponderance non-additive gene action determination studied. Desirable parental lines identified different like EC 620438 BS 24-2 TSS, Superbug Columbia, content, H 86 620541 content. Similarly, desirable combiners identified. hybrid combination 620438×BS appeared good combiner lines/hybrids present will be useful identifying adapted a range environments.

In-Vitro Organogenesis in Tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum) Using Kinetin

This research was undertaken for optimizing simple and reproducible protocol on indirect regeneration in tomato using kinetin. The effect of kinetin for efficient callus production was studied and its results were interpreted. Hypocotyls and cotyledons were used as explants and effect on callus derived regeneration was greatly influenced by addition of kinetin in media. The individually positio...

Enhancing Brassinosteroid Signaling via Overexpression of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) SlBRI1 Improves Major Agronomic Traits

Brassinosteroids (BRs) play important roles in plant growth, development, and stress responses through the receptor, Brassinosteroid-insensitive 1 (BRI1), which perceives BRs and initiates BR signaling. There is considerable potential agricultural value in regulating BR signaling in crops. In this study, we investigated the effects of overexpressing the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) BRI1 gene, ...

Carotenoid content impacts flavor acceptability in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum).

BACKGROUND Tomatoes contain high levels of several carotenoids including lycopene and β-carotene. Beyond their functions as colorants and nutrients, carotenoids are precursors for important volatile flavor compounds. In order to assess the importance of apocarotenoid volatiles in flavor perception and acceptability, we conducted sensory evaluations of near-isogenic carotenoid biosynthetic mutan...
