Environmental pollution by microplastics and its consequences on human health

نویسندگان

چکیده

Introduction: In recent years there has been a considerable increase in the use of plastic products for different purposes. Many plastics generated are dumped into environment inappropriately. Therefore, it is possible to find waste ecosystems, with marine being one most impacted. The objective this review identify impacts microplastics on and their impact human health. Methodology: This work corresponds narrative literature review, using articles published from 2017 2022. search was carried out following databases: Sciencedirect, Scholar Google Springer-Verlag, descriptors: microplastics, pollution environmental impact. Result: Plastics discarded go through processes, such as biological stresses synergistically which allow these be broken down particles smaller than 5 mm called microplastics. current scenario microplastic evidence causing concern researchers around world, since pollutants complex contaminants have significant toxic effects. Current research proves that prolonged exposure jeopardizes survival life induces serious damage health, they can cause cell its genetic material, addition providing surface transport microorganisms. And other chemical compounds. Conclusion: Studies show pose potential risks threaten requiring urgent action recover avoid impacts.
