چکیده
Abstract The inevitable dissipative interaction of an entangled quantum system with its environment causes degradation in correlations present the system. This can lead to a finite-time disappearance entanglement, which is known as Entanglement Sudden Death (ESD). Here, we consider initially qubit-qutrit and noise leads ESD, propose set local unitary operations, when applied on qubit, qutrit, or both subsystems during decoherence process, cause ESD be hastened, delayed, avoided altogether, depending time application. Delay avoidance may find practical application information processing protocols that would otherwise suffer due short lifetime entanglement. physical implementation these unitaries discussed context atomic simulation results such manipulations are presented for two different classes systems. Concentration of higher dimensional entanglement
Enhancement of entanglement enhancement is necessary for most quantum communication protocols many of which are defined in Hilbert spaces larger than two. In this work we present the experimental realization of entanglement concentration of orbital angular momentum entangled photons produced in the spontaneous parametric down-conversion process which have been shown to provide a source for high...
متن کاملHigher Dimensional Transition Systems
We introduce the notion of higher dimensional transition systems as a model of concurrency providing an elementary, set-theoretic formalisation of the idea of higher dimensional transition. We show an embedding of the category of higher dimensional transition systems into that of higher dimensional automata which cuts down to an equivalence when we restrict to non-degenerate automata. Moreover,...

متن کاملEvolution of Entanglement Entropy in One-Dimensional Systems
We study the unitary time evolution of the entropy of entanglement of a one-dimensional system between the degrees of freedom in an interval of length l and its complement, starting from a pure state which is not an eigenstate of the hamiltonian. We use path integral methods of quantum field theory as well as explicit computations for the transverse Ising spin chain. In both cases, there is a m...
متن کاملGround State Entanglement in One Dimensional Translationally Invariant Quantum Systems
We examine whether it is possible for one-dimensional translationally-invariant Hamiltonians to have ground states with a high degree of entanglement. We present a family of translationally invariant Hamiltonians {Hn} for the infinite chain. The spectral gap of Hn is Ω(1/poly(n)). Moreover, for any state in the ground space of Hn and anym, there are regions of sizem with entanglement entropy Ω(...
