چکیده
In this paper we study the relationship between TCP packet loss cycle and performance of time-sensitive traffic in data centers. Using real measurements analysis, find that such cycles are not long enough to enable most partition-aggregate applications recover their losses via 3-dup ACKs mechanism. As a result, Timeout (RTO) mechanism is frequently triggered, leading expansion flow completion times (FCT) by orders magnitude. Hence, seek an alternative method does change virtual machines can effectively expand duration short flows finish transfer without incurring cost RTO. To end, propose novel TCP-AQM alternates slow constant bitrate (CBR) mode fast rate hysteresis switching cycle. We prove stability proposed control theoretic model, then evaluate its gains small large scale NS2 simulation FPGA implementation prototype on NetFPGA platform. The results show considerable improvements FCT distribution reduction missed deadlines experiments.

Theoretical and Empirical Analysis of Economic Resilience Index
Resilience is defined in different ways by different disciplines and different authors but in general resilience may be defined as the ability of a system and its component parts to anticipate, absorb, accommodate, or recover from the effects of a hazardous event in a timely and efficient manner. Resilience is applicable at the micro as macro level, and for this reason, is sometimes defined as ...

15 صفحه اولScale-Independent Hysteresis Switching
This paper introduces a new switching logic inspired by the hysteresis switching logic considered in 7,11]. The new logic also uses hysteresis to prevent chatter, but unlike its predecessor in 7, 11], it is \scale-independent" as well. The logic is shown to have the requisite properties for adaptive control applications.
متن کاملEnhancing TCP splitting in satellite-terrestrial networks via ACK reservation
In this paper, we focus on the performance of TCP splitting in satellite-terrestrial hybrid networks. By simulation we show that long-time link outage has great negative impact on TCP throughput. To solve the problem, an ACK reservation scheme is proposed to speed up TCP recovery from link outage and analytical estimate of a key parameter of the scheme is provided for achieving high end-to-end ...
متن کاملEnhancing TCP Congestion Control Via Connection Bandwidth Estimation,
We present performance studies of TCP Westwood (TCPW), a sender-side modification of the congestion window control scheme in TCP. TCP Westwood relies on end-to-end rate estimation. The key innovative idea is to continuously measure at the TCP sender the packet rate of the connection by monitoring the rate of returning ACKs. The estimate is then used to compute congestion window and slow start t...
