چکیده
Abstract The biomass valorisation of the invasive brown alga Rugulopteryx okamurae (Dictyotales, Phaeophyceae) is key to curbing expansion this macroalga which generating tonnes on southern Spain beaches. As a feasible alternative for management, anaerobic co-digestion proposed in study. Although digestion macroalgae barely produced 177 mL CH 4 g −1 VS, with C-rich substrate, such as olive mill solid waste (OMSW, main derived from two-phase oil manufacturing process), improved process. mixture not only methane yield, but also its biodegradability. highest biodegradability was found 1 R. okamurae— OMSW, by 12.9% and 38.1% OMSW. yield observed —3 improving production alone 157% OMSW 8.6%. Assessment of two-phase olive mill solid waste and microalgae co-digestion to improve methane production and process kinetics.
Olive mill solid waste (OMSW) is a pollutant waste coming from olive oil elaboration by the two-phase centrifugation system. OMSW has a high organic matter content and unbalanced carbon to nitrogen (C/N) ratio, 31/1, which avoids obtaining high methane yields in the anaerobic digestion of this waste. In the present study a microalgae, Dunaliella salina, was employed as co-substrate for the OMSW...

methane production from anaerobic co-digestion of poultry manure
this study investigated the effect of loading and temperature on anaerobic co-digestion of poultry manure with straw in mesophilic conditions. the study was made at lab-scale using 70l reactor with a hrt of 15 days. during the first phase, different loads of 1.0, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 kg vs/m3.d were studied in order to produce biogas. at load of 3.0 kg vs/ m3.d, vs removal and gas product...
متن کاملEnhanced Methane Production from Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Wheat Straw and Herbal-Extraction Process Residues
The efficient biosynthesis of methane from renewable biomass resources is discussed in this paper. Herbal-extraction process residues (HPR) are an excellent raw material for anaerobic digestion because of their abundant trace elements and fermentation stability. Anaerobic codigestion of wheat straw with HPR was evaluated at HPR/wheat straw ratios (based on total solids (TS), of wheat straw) of ...
متن کاملMethane production by anaerobic digestion of wastewater and solid wastes
Anaerobic conversion of organic materials and pollutants is an established technology for environmental protection through the treatment of wastes and wastewater. The end product is biogas –a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide–, which is a useful, renewable energy source. Anaerobic digestion is a technologically simple process, with a low energy requirement, used to convert organic material ...
