Enhancing in vitro oocyte maturation competence and embryo development in farm animals: roles of vitamin-based antioxidants – A review

چکیده

Abstract Oocyte/embryo in vitro culture is one of the most important assisted reproductive technologies used as a tool for maintaining genetic resources biodiversity and inheritance valuable through generations. The success such processes affects final goal culture, getting viable healthy offspring. In common oocyte maturation and/or embryo development techniques, oocytes/embryos carried out at 5% carbon dioxide roughly 20% atmosphere-borne oxygen ratios cell incubators due to their reduced cost comparison with low atmospheric oxygen-tension incubators. These conditions are usually accompanied by emergence reactive species (ROS), which can extremely damage membrane integrity other vital cellular organelles, well material. present review mainly focuses on antioxidant roles different vitamins competence farm animals. use agents may prevent extreme augmentation ROS generation enhance matured development. Therefore, this aimed provide an updated outline impact vitamin (Vit) supplementations during (IVM) fertilization (IVF) consequent development, various domestic animal species. Thus, enrichment media neutralize production (IVEP) outcomes.

The Effects of Progesterone on Oocyte Maturation and Embryo Development

Oocyte maturation and embryo development are controlled by intra-ovarian factors such as steroid hormones. Progesterone (P4) exists in the follicular fluid that contributes to normal mammalian ovarian function and has several critical functions during embryo development and implantation, including endometrial receptivity, embryonic survival during gestation and transformation of the endometrial...

Oocyte cytoplasmic maturation: a key mediator of oocyte and embryo developmental competence.

Efforts have intensified to successfully mature and inseminate oocytes in vitro and then culture ensuing embryos to transferable stages from a large number of mammalian species. Success varies, but generally even for the most successful species it is only possible to obtain a maximum of a 40 to 50% development of zygotes to the blastocyst stage. Reduced oocyte developmental competence is sugges...

P-214: The Rate of In Vitro Oocyte Maturation,Fertilization and Embryo Development in Presence of Melatonin in Mice

Background: It is important to protect oocytes and embryos from oxidative stress in the culture medium. Melatonin has been shown to be a direct free radical scavenger. Therefore, effect of melatonin during in vitro oocyte maturation (IVM), fertilization and embryo development of mouse oocytes was evaluated. Materials and Methods: Oocytes from supper-ovulated mouse were divided to two groups: cu...

Potential researchable areas in ARTs--oocyte maturation and embryo development.

Infertility is a commonly encountered situation occurring equally in both sexes. In vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) and other assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) have enhanced the possibilities for successful treatment to tackle infertility. However, ARTs currently face limitations due to the fact that although success rate is high for the initial stages such as ovulation...
