Enhancement of Piezoelectricity in Dimensionally Engineered Metal‐Halide Perovskites Induced by Deep Level Defects

Metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been considered to be one of the most promising next-generation energy harvesters over past decades due remarkably rapid improvement power conversion efficiency in photovoltaics. However, based on source an intrinsic environment limitation for indoor applications. A feasible solution is add non-solar harvesting functions harvesters. Here, piezoelectric properties two types metal PSCs are investigated, 3D only and 3D/2D structure, showing PCEs 21.3% 23.2%, respectively. Piezo-response force microscopy synchrotron-based X-ray diffraction demonstrate that both PSC sample piezoelectricity. Remarkably, structure has considerably higher amplitude than 3D-only. The deep level transient spectroscopy results reveal enhancement piezoelectricity originates from PbBr defects. This study unravels role defects provides a direction develop multi-function PSCs.
