Abstract In this paper, a three-phase shunt active power filter (SAPF) controller with fully digital implementation is presented. The main goal of contribution to implement direct control (DDPC) algorithm without phase-locked-loop (PLL) for SAPF. This intended quality improvement and current harmonic elimination. introduced in paper cost-effective, has fast-dynamic response, simple hardware implementation. order comply the above specifications, dedicated been conceived implemented within field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device. FPGA-based integrates whole signal-processing functions needed drive SAPF, as well an original method sector identification. provides desired references select optimal switching sequences. orders follow grid reference voltage source inverter (VSI), so SAPF achieves good performances while ensuring balanced overall supply currents, unity factor, reduced load currents. proposed valuable compromise between fast dynamic minimum execution time, FPGA resources, through design entire system developed simulated using VHDL VHDL-AMS languages.
