Enhanced demodulation band selection based on Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) for bearing diagnostics

Vibration time signals emitted by a defective rolling element bearing are often used to determine its health condition. For real-world measurements these fault may be weak compared the remaining content in measured signal causing increased difficulties detection. One way of enhancing detection is demodulation at filtered frequency band which Signal-to-Noise-Ratio (SNR) high. In present paper, we propose method that uses resonances obtained from Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) as center frequencies for filter bands it assumed characteristic modulate or carrier close them. An indicator OMA enhance most and this selection dependent on bandwidth well. The presented applied two experimental cases, an test rig planetary gearbox wind turbine gearbox, Fast Kurtogram Log-Cycligram assess performance selection. results show determines suited pass filtering enhances complex use cases.
