چکیده
Introducing porosity is attractive for tailoring electronic, thermal, and mechanical properties of inorganic materials. Nanoporosity typically either inherent in crystallographic channels the structure or obtained by external templating during synthesis sintering. However, controllably engineering materials with laminated crystal structures without remains a challenge. Here, we demonstrate realization faceted oriented nanopores textured Ca3Co4O9—a ceramic misfit-layered importance thermoelectric applications—from chemical reactions CaO/Co3O4 multilayers. We show that CaO conversion to Ca(OH)2 cobalt oxide stoichiometry are key determinants nanoporosity. Adjusting unreacted fraction alters nanopore size Ca3Co4O9. The preferred orientation Ca3Co4O9 underpinned texture reactant multilayers reactant–product relationships density difference. Oriented pore formation attributed basal plane removal driven local densification nuclei through growth impingement. These findings point possibilities nanoporosity variety structures.

Thickness Dependence of Sensitivity in Thin Film Tin Oxide Gas Sensors Deposited by Vapor Pyrolysis
Transparent SnO2 thin films were deposited on porcelain substrates using a chemical vapor deposition technique based on the hydrolysis of SnCl4 at elevated temperatures. A reduced pressure self-contained evaporation chamber was designed for the process where the pyrolysis of SnCl4 at the presence of water vapor was carried out. Resistive gas sensors were fabricated by providing ohmic contacts o...
متن کاملIndentation-Induced Shear Band Formation in Thin-Film Multilayers
We report an exploratory investigation into the cause of shear band formation in multilayer thin films subject to nanoindentation. The material system considered here is composed of alternating aluminum (Al) and silicon carbide (SiC) nanolayers, atop a silicon (Si) substrate. Finite element models are developed in an attempt to reproduce the shear banding phenomenon observed experimentally. By ...
متن کاملExchange bias in thin-film (Co/Pt)3/Cr2O3 multilayers
We have fabricated exchange-biased Co/Pt layers ((0.3 nm/1.5 nm) 3) on (0 01)-oriented Cr2O3 thin films. The multilayered films showed extremely smooth surfaces and interfaces with root mean square roughness of E0.3 nm for 10mm 10mm area. The Cr2O3 films display sufficient insulation with a relative low leakage current (1.17 10 A/cm at 380MV/m) at room temperature which allowed us to apply elec...
متن کاملFerroelastic switching in a layered-perovskite thin film
A controllable ferroelastic switching in ferroelectric/multiferroic oxides is highly desirable due to the non-volatile strain and possible coupling between lattice and other order parameter in heterostructures. However, a substrate clamping usually inhibits their elastic deformation in thin films without micro/nano-patterned structure so that the integration of the non-volatile strain with thin...
متن کاملThin film nanocomposite forward osmosis membrane prepared by graphene oxide embedded PSf substrate
One of the limiting factors in good performance of forward osmosis (FO) membranes is the internal concentration polarization (ICP). To reduce ICP, thin film nanocomposite forward osmosis (TFN-FO) membranes were fabricated by adding different amounts of graphene oxide (GO) nanoplates (0-1 wt. %) to polymer matrix of polysulfone (PSf) substrate. The prepared nanocomposite membranes exhibited both...
