Energy transitions and labor market patterns in the U.S. coal industry

The U.S. coal industry is in the midst of a transition. Changes regulation and technological innovation from other fossils renewables have affected its competitiveness. These could significant impacts on labor market where jobs be lost. In this study, we investigate how changes employment affect wages 20 industries 10 producing states. We assess these transitions impact welfare programs, since regions are associated with higher poverty levels.
