Hydraulic hybrid drivetrains, which are fluid power technologies implemented in automobiles, present a popular alternative to conventional drivetrain architectures due their high energy savings, flexibility transmission, and ease of operation. drivetrains offer multiple environmental benefits compared other transmission technologies. They provide heavy-duty vehicles, e.g., commercial transportation, construction equipment, wagon handling, drilling machines, military trucks, with the potential achieve better fuel economy lower carbon emissions. Despite preponderance hydraulic transmissions, state-of-the-art have relatively low efficiencies, around 64% 81%. This efficiency is utilization variable displacement pumps motors that experience losses throughout drive cycle thus fail maintain operating at volumetric displacements. work proposes validates new methodology improve overall by replacing pump/motor units digital counterparts. Compared pump/motors, can higher efficiencies wide range conditions. A proof-of-concept prototype was built tested. The experimental data were integrated into multi-domain physics-based simulation model series transmission. proposed permits enhancing allows for savings. Simulating system moderate load-speed conditions allowed achieving total 89%. average our results reveal pump enables improving up 25%.
