Energy-Efficient Control of a Gas Turbine Power Generation System

Gas turbines are used in the energy sectors as propulsion and power generation technologies. Despite technological advances emergence of numerous resources, gas turbine technology remains important due to its flexibility load demand following, dynamical behavior, ability work on different fuels with minor design changes. However, there would be no ambitious progress for without reliable modeling simulation. This paper describes a novel approach modeling, identifying, controlling running plant. A simplified nonlinear model structure composed s-domain transfer functions blocks represented by rate limiters, saturations, look-up tables has been proposed. The parameters have optimized fit real-world data. verified was then multiple PI/PD control regulate via inlet guide vane fuel vales. aim is raise stabilize compressor’s differential pressure or ratio, well set-point temperature exhausted from combustion turbine; result, efficiency improved an average 237.16 MWh saving (or 8.96% reduction consumption) range 120 MW 240 MW.
