ENDIG: Interactive Geovisualization of Surveillance Systems for Notifiable Diseases in Europe

Abstract. National disease surveillance systems are among the most important tools for observation and management of communicable diseases. They help to detect outbreaks monitor success public health responses. The European Union aims harmonize landscape better interoperability across member states. However, progress these efforts is difficult assess, as information available in different formats, written reports or numerous tables individual Here we present ENDIG, an interactive geovisualization tool, that makes existing easily accessible end users researchers adjoining disciplines. ENDIG allows convenient exploration about development national more than 60 diseases EU states, well Iceland, Liechtenstein Norway, over course past 7 years (2015–2021).
