چکیده
Abstract The present report describes the end-to-end technique of anal sphincter repair in a 36-year-old female patient with post-vaginal delivery fecal incontinence (FI). had history two vaginal deliveries and symptoms FI were observed after second delivery. On assessment severity using Wexner score, score 12. Endoanal ultrasonography revealed an anterior defect external extending from 11 to 3 o'clock. no previous surgery did not have any medical comorbidities. operation time was 45 minutes. No intraoperative complications recorded. At 12 months follow-up, showed significant improvement continence state, her dropping 4. postoperative We can conclude that is technically feasible confers satisfactory state without imposing much tension on site repair.

Overlapping compared with end-to-end repair of third and fourth degree obstetric anal sphincter tears.
PURPOSE OF REVIEW There is a significant risk of anal incontinence in women who sustain a third or fourth degree tear of the external anal sphincter (EAS) at the time of delivery. Optimizing the surgical correction of these injuries should result in the best functional outcome for women. The purpose of this review is to examine recent evidence. RECENT FINDINGS The results of randomized trials...

Abstract Background : Although, different studies on end-to-side nerve repair, results are controversial. The importance of this method in case is unavailability of proximal nerve. In this method, donor nerves also remain intact and without injury. In compare to other classic procedures, end-to-side repair is not much time consuming and needs less dissection. Overall, the previous studies i...

AIM Structural anal sphincter damage may be secondary to obstetric anal sphincter injury, perineal trauma or anorectal surgery. We reviewed the spectrum of anal sphincter injuries and their outcomes in a tertiary care colorectal unit. METHODS Data of patients who underwent anal sphincter repair between 2004 and 2008 were analyzed retrospectively. Outcomes were compared with respect to etiolog...

PURPOSE: To evaluate the prevalence of anal incontinence (AI) in primiparous women five years after their first delivery; to investigate if an 8-12 hour time delay of primary repair affects AI at 1-year follow-up; to study the association between endoanal ultrasonography and anorectal manometry in relation to AI in primiparous women; to evaluate whether an endoanal ultrasonographic derived sphi...

BACKGROUND Despite the surge of new medical and surgical approaches to treat fecal incontinence, the types of sphincter abnormalities in patients with incontinence have not been well characterized. We aimed to categorize anal sphincter dysfunction using anorectal manometry in patients with fecal incontinence as a potential guide for improved treatment. METHODS A retrospective review of 162 co...
