Background The management of lactation in preterm mothers is a real challenge for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care, providers. study aimed to evaluate the enablers and barriers enteral feeding with mothers` own milk (MOM) very low birth weight (VLBW) infants tertiary care neonatal unit. Methods This prospective observational took place at level NICU high-risk obstetric unit private hospital. All VLBW were incorporated into study. Data on gathered from mother-baby dyads time birth, end 7th day, then weekly till discharge baby Results We studied 87 dyads. Mean (SD) maternal age, gestation age 29.3 (4.7) years, 30.8 (2.0) weeks, 1196 (196) grams respectively. categorized our data 2 groups based outcome estimates done during entire hospital stay or pre-discharge (48 hours before discharge).
