Emission Modeling in the EHT–ngEHT Age

This work proposes a methodology for testing phenomenologically motivated emission processes that account the flux and polarization distribution global structure of 230 GHz sources imaged by Event Horizon Telescope (EHT): Messier (M)87* Sagittarius (Sgr) A*. We introduce into general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (GRMHD) simulations some novel models to bridge largely uncertain mechanisms which high-energy particles in jet/accretion flow/black hole (JAB) system plasmas attain billion-degree temperatures emit synchrotron radiation. The “Observing” JAB Systems then partitions simulation apply different parametric regions governed plasma physics—an advance over methods one parametrization is used spanning thousands gravitational radii from central supermassive black hole. present several classes viewing-angle-dependent morphologies highlight signatures piecewise modeling positron effects, including MAD/SANE dichotomy polarized maps appear dominated intrinsic MAD case Faraday effects SANE case. library images thus produced spans wide range awaiting discovery groundbreaking EHT instrument its yet more sensitive, higher-resolution next-generation counterpart, ngEHT.
