Emergency remote education in foreign and second language teaching

This study aims at tracing the effects of emergency remote education due to Covid-19 on foreign/second language teaching documented in research papers and reports. Employing document analysis, it identifies contexts key findings reported studies published between 1 January 28 October 2020. The indicate that a significant number publications consist reports presented by practitioners, i.e. schools, governmental authorities educational foundations, tertiary level is most frequently covered context papers. analysed report slightly more Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT)-driven affordances for teachers than constraints suggest both students are able turn challenges ERT into when they receive sufficient support from authorities, schools or peers benefit already acquired digital skills technical infrastructure available. also gap based classroom data, which would effectively contribute an understanding teaching.
