Passive Control of Flow Separation over a Circular Cylinder with Electro-Magnetic Fields: Numerical Simulation
Abstract A new second order theoretical model of the combined interaction of externally applied electric and magnetic fields and viscous incompressible fluid flows has been rewritten as a system of first order partial differential equations. The system was solved using a least-squares finite element model on an unstructured grid. The numerical algorithm is very stable and accurate. The accuracy...

Numerical Simulation of Sediment-Laden Flow Around a Circular Cylinder
In this paper, the sediment-laden flow around a circular cylinder is numerically simulated in order to obtain better understanding of hydrodynamics associated. A range of cases with different Reynolds numbers (Re) are studies. The effects of the concentration of the sediment on the drag coefficient are investigated. Results show that due to the fact that the laden sand particle colliding the cy...
متن کاملDevelopment of a novel method in TRMC for a Binary Gas Flow Inside a Rotating Cylinder
A new approach to calculate the axially symmetric binary gas flow is proposed Dalton’s law for partial pressures contributed by each species of a binary gas mixture (argon and helium) is incorporated into numerical simulation of rarefied axially symmetric flow inside a rotating cylinder using the time relaxed Monte-Carlo (TRMC) scheme and the direct simulation Monte-Carlo (DSMC) method. The res...
متن کاملIntegral Equation for the Fields Inside a Dielectric Cylinder Immersed in an Incident E-Wave
The scattering of a time-harmonic E-wave by a dielectric cylinder is solved by a single integral equation. Two alternatives are investigated to derive such a single integral equation. Interest is focused on the fields inside the dielectric. In this case the integral equation has only the incident electric field as its source term.
