چکیده
ABSTRACT The objective was to evaluate the inoculation with Aspergillus terreus and/or Trichoderma longibrachiatum on fermentation, chemical and microbiological composition of elephant grass ‘Cameroon’ silage (Cenchrus purpureus). Treatments were A. at 105 colony forming units (CFU)/g (AT15), T. CFU/g (TL20), a mixture both (MIX), control group without (CONTR). design completely randomized seven replicates. MIX most stable, while CONTR, AT15, TL20, had lower dry matter losses. There no effect in silages. Only (4.40) pH above minimum 4.2 for humid (4.05). Bacteria from Diplococcus genus identified opening TL20 CONTR After air exposure, population rods, Lactobacillus, total lactic acid bacteria higher theTL20 MIX. inclusion increases mater loss pH. more efficient maintaining populations after opening; therefore, this strain has potential as an additive silage.

Chemical composition and nutrient degradability in elephant grass silage inoculated with Streptococcus bovis isolated from the rumen.
The objective of the present study was to assess the chemical and bromatological composition and in situ degradability of elephant grass silages inoculated with Streptococcus bovis isolated from cattle rumen. A complete randomized design was used with four treatments and six replications: elephant grass silage, elephant grass silage inoculated with 10(6) CFU/g Streptococcus bovis JB1 strains; e...

This experiment aimed to evaluate the ruminal degradability in situ of the dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) of Guinea grass silages. The experimental design was completely randomized with six treatments and six repetitions: Guinea grass silage, Guinea grass silage inoculated with 10% wheat bran, Guinea grass silage inoculated with...
متن کاملEffects of Streptococcus bovis Isolated from Bovine Rumen on the Fermentation Characteristics and Nutritive Value of Tanzania Grass Silage
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Streptococcus bovis on the fermentation characteristics and nutritive value of Tanzania grass silage. Tanzania grass was chopped and left untreated (U) or treated with Streptococcus bovis JB1 at 1 × 10(6) colony-forming units per gram (cfu/g) of fresh forage or Streptococcus bovis HC5 at 1 × 10(6) cfu/g of fresh forage and packed into sixtuplicate lab...
متن کاملRumen and blood variables in steers fed grass silage or whole-crop fodder beet silage
The objectives of this study were (i) to examine the effects on rumen and blood variables when grass silage (GS) was replaced with whole crop fodder beet silage (FBS) in the diet of beef cattle, and (ii) an abrupt change from GS to FBS. Six rumen-fistulated Friesian steers (initial bodyweight (BW) 416 kg, SD 43) were offered GS ad libitum for four weeks. The dry matter (DM) consumed daily by ea...
متن کاملLosses and nutritional value of elephant grass silage with inclusion levels of cottonseed meal
The experiment was conducted to evaluate losses and nutritive value of elephant grass silage containing increasing levels of cottonseed meal. The experimental design was completely randomized, with five treatments: 0, 7, 14, 21 and 28% inclusion of cottonseed meal, and four replications. The material was chopped and packed in PVC silos and stored for 80 days. The pH and dry matter (DM), crude p...
