Elemene inhibits the growth and promotes apoptosis of bladder cancer cells through PTEN-Akt signaling pathway

نویسندگان

چکیده

Purpose: To investigate the influence of elemene on growth and apoptotic changes in bladder cancer cells, involvement phosphatase tensin homologous protein (PTEN)-serine/threonine kinase (Akt) signal pathway process.
Methods: Human cell line SV-HUC-1 human T24 were randomly assigned to blank control group groups. Protein expression levels apoptosis-related factors (Bcl-2, Bax, caspase-3] PTEN, Akt, p-Akt both cells determined using western blot assay.
Results: In level Bcl-2 was significantly higher than control, while Bax caspase-3 lower corresponding (p < 0.05). The PTEN group, Akt comparable groups.
Conclusion: Elemene inhibits enhances apoptosis through a mechanism involving up-regulation suppression pAkt.

Long non-coding RNA FOXO1 inhibits lung cancer cell growth through down-regulating PI3K/AKT signaling pathway

Objective(s): Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, which seriously threatens the health and life of the people. Recently, a novel long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) termed lncFOXO1 was found and investigated in breast cancer. However, the effect of lncFOXO1 on lung cancer is still ambiguous. The current study aimed to uncover the functions of lncFOXO1 in l...

The Study of the Effects of Acetobacter Isolated from Local Picklesin PTEN/AKT Signaling Route in Colon Cancer Cells (HT29)

Introduction: The imbalance of the microbial ecosystem causes biological changes associated with colorectal cancer and cell proliferation and their planned death, as well as the immune responses. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of probiotic bacteria on the expression of genes associated with growth, metastasis and apoptosis in cancer cells of the HT29 colon.   Materials & Me...

Anti-cancer properties of Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 against HT-29 colon cancer cells through regulation of Bax/Bcl-xL and AKT/PTEN signaling pathways

Objective(s): Chemotherapies used to treat colon cancer might often fail due to the emergence of chemoresistance and side effects. Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 (EcN) is a beneficial probiotic, whose molecular mechanisms in the prevention of colon cancer are yet to be fully understood. The present study assessed the anti-cancer effects of EcN treatments in human colorec...

Cinobufagin inhibits tumor growth by inducing intrinsic apoptosis through AKT signaling pathway in human nonsmall cell lung cancer cells

The cinobufagin (CB) has a broad spectrum of cytotoxicity to inhibit cell proliferation of various human cancer cell lines, but the molecular mechanisms still remain elusive. Here we observed that CB inhibited the cell proliferation and tumor growth, but induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. Treatment with CB significantl...
