چکیده

Abstract While TMS represents an exciting treatment tool for psychiatry, clinical response depression is <50%. Furthermore, <1% of available protocols (frequency, amplitude, pattern, etc) are utilized clinically. The low rate and under-utilization novel patterns partially because we lack a mechanistic understanding the circuit-level neuromodulatory changes induced by TMS. This impedes optimization driven fact that do not have robust reproducible methodology to measure brain in real-time clinic. Combining EEG (TMS-EEG) boosting its signal-to-noise represent promising clinic-ready noninvasive help optimize In this talk, first present work utilizes TMS-EEG identify ‘p30,’ biomarker after relates outcome. Interestingly p30 another study also observed intracranially using electrical stimulation perceived patients. Next ongoing methodological efforts lab increase reliability validity biomarker. Finally, briefly discuss recent explore how differentially modulate Enhancing exploring parameter space critical steps development adaptive closed-loop protocols. Treatment of Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders with Deep Brain Stimulation Raising Hopes and Future Challenges

The technology of Neural Stimulation in recent years has become the focus of the research and treatment, although it has been around for many years. The potential use of stimulating the brain and nerves ranges from the spinal cord stimulation to the implantations of cochlear and bionic eyes with a large discrepancy between the clinical readiness for these various uses. Electrical high-frequency...

Brain stimulation for the treatment of psychiatric disorders.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW There has been a resurgence of interest in brain stimulation techniques as therapies for psychiatric disorders. Various names are used for this class of treatments: neuromodulation, somatic therapies, brain stimulation techniques. The methods in this class range from non-invasive (transcranial magnetic stimulation) to invasive brain surgery (deep brain stimulation). RECENT F...

Deep Brain Stimulation in Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders.

BACKGROUND Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is the chronic electrical stimulation of selected target sites in the brain through stereotactically implanted electrodes. More than 150 000 patients around the world have been treated to date with DBS for medically intractable conditions. The indications for DBS include movement disorders, epilepsy, and some types of mental illness. METHODS This review...

Electronic Tool Interferences with Electrophysiology for the Psychiatric Disorders Monitoring

The paper presents a hardware solution of the in vivo electrophysiological signals acquiring and processing, using a continuous data acquisition on PC. The originality of the paper comes from architecture proposal, with some new blocks, which selective amplify and filter biosignals. One of the major problems in the electrophysiological signals monitoring is the impossibility to record the weak ...
