Electrooxidation of ammonia on A-site deficient perovskite oxide La0.9Ni0.6Cu0.35Fe0.05O3-? for wastewater treatment

چکیده

Wastewater can contain high amounts of ammonia which pose as a great safety threat if released into natural waters. The electrochemical oxidation offers viable strategy to remove concentrations and provides an attractive method for wastewater treatment. However, finding highly efficient low-cost catalyst is imperative overcoming the sluggish nature reaction. Herein, modified A- B-site perovskite proposed ammonia, making it suitable anode in electrolyser. A series La1-yNi0.6Cu0.4-xFexO3-? (x = 0, 0.05 0.10; y 0.10) materials were synthesised by conventional sol–gel method. Amongst those tested oxides, La0.9Ni0.6Cu0.35Fe0.05O3-? was found have superior activity towards electrooxidation due optimised amount Fe doping presence oxygen vacancies introduced A-site deficiency. Subsequently, employed electrolyser where removal efficiency reached 95.4 % simulated after 80 hr substantial reduction real also observed. These results demonstrate that deficient are electrode practical energy setting paves way future applications.

Modelling a nutrient deficient wastewater treatment process

In this paper a new model, tailor-made for nutrient deficient aerobic COD removal, is presented. The Activated Sludge Model No. 1 is chosen as a basis for model development. The original model is extended to include (1) phosphorus state variables; (2) phosphorus and nitrogen limited heterotrophic growth and (3) an additional active biomass component to model predation by higher-order organisms,...

Engineered ecosystem for sustainable on-site wastewater treatment.

A pilot-scale engineered ecosystem (PSEE) operated for over 2 years in sub-tropical conditions, produced an effluent with COD (median 38 mg/L) and TSS (median 3mg/L) levels comparable to that required by the AS/NZS 1547:2000 Onsite Domestic Wastewater Management standard. Only partial nitrification was achieved as dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonia occurred; however the level of NH(4)-N...

Phosphorus reduction in filters for on-site wastewater treatment

Discharges of phosphorus (P) from on-site wastewater treatment systems generally contribute to eutrophication problems in Swedish freshwaters and, ultimately, in the Baltic Sea. Such concerns have led to a growing interest in improving P removal in treatment facilities. This study investigated the reduction of P in 12 full-scale on-site treatment systems featuring sand filters and alkaline P-fi...
