Electron-Beam Welding of Titanium and Ti6Al4V Alloy

This work presents the results of electron-beam welding commercially pure α-Ti (CP-Ti) and Ti6Al4V (Ti64) alloys. The structure mechanical properties formed welded joints were examined as a function power electron beam. beam was set to P1 = 2100 W, P2 1500 P3 900 respectively. X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments performed in order investigate phase composition fabricated joints. microstructure by both optical microscopy, scanning microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX). studied using tensile test microhardness experiments. discussed concerning influence on weld Furthermore, practical applicability present method for Ti64 also discussed.
