Electromechanical Properties of Poly(vinylidene fluoride- trifluoroethylene) Networks
Random copolymers of 65% vinylidene fluoride and 35% trifluoroethylene were reacted with an organic peroxide, in combination with a free-radical trap, to yield networks of high crosslink density. Crystallization subsequent to the crosslinking yielded ferroelectric materials exhibiting large electrostrictive strains. The magnitude of the electromechanical response increased with an increasing de...
متن کاملPolyvinylidene fluoride–trifluoroethylene as a reservoir for absorbed water
The absorption of water in Langmuir–Blodgett fi lms of ferroelectric copolymers of polyvinylidene fl uoride with trifl uoroethylene is shown to depend upon the fi lm thickness. This water absorption can have a profound effect on the dielectric properties of the copolymer fi lms.

Thermal Stability and Magnetic Properties of Polyvinylidene Fluoride/Magnetite Nanocomposites
This work describes the thermal stability and magnetic properties of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/magnetite nanocomposites fabricated using the solution mixing technique. The image of transmission electron microscopy for PVDF/magnetite nanocomposites reveals that the 13 nm magnetite nanoparticles are well distributed in PVDF matrix. The electroactive β-phase and piezoelectric responses of PVD...
متن کاملTheoretical study on the optical properties of polyvinylidene fluoride crystal
We report our first-principles studies on the linear and non-linear optical properties of ferroelectric polyvinylidene fluoride crystal. Calculated values of the refractive indices agree well with experiments. As regards the second-harmonic-generation coefficients, theoretical values are larger than experimental ones. Possible reasons for the discrepancy are discussed. Polyvinylidene fluoride (...
