چکیده
Automobile manufacturers have recently focused their research on the concurrent improvement of fuel efficiency and stability. To implement lightweight body structures, joining dissimilar materials, such as advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP), is most important, whereas fusion welding, which conventional welding process, inapplicable owing to difference in mechanical properties between materials. Thus, development an appropriate material process utmost importance, considering productivity safety. Self-piercing riveting (SPR), a representative has no limitation terms applicable materials advantage improved joint strength. However, requirements industry are continuously increasing, there need further develop process. Therefore, this study introduces electromagnetic self-piercing riveting(E-SPR), that uses high electrical energy discharge charged capacitor working coil located head C-frame. In particular, enables high-quality parts be secured by improving formability with poor under strain rate. Consequently, simple piece E-SPR equipment was manufactured, Al/Steel Al/CFRP fabricated. The results preliminary test reported quality equal or higher than previously SPR joint. Based these results, studies processes for commercialization will conducted future.

Recent development in finite element analysis of self-piercing riveted joints
Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is a high-speed mechanical fastening technique which is suitable for point-joining advanced lightweight sheet materials that are dissimilar, coated, and hard to weld. Major advances have been made in recent years in SPR technique. Latest literature relating to finite element analysis (FEA) of SPR joints is reviewed in this paper. The recent development in FEA of SPR...
متن کاملEfect of Variations of Riveting Process on the Quality of Riveted Joints
This thesis presents a study of the effect of controllable riveting parameters, mainly squeeze force, rivet length, rivet diameter tolerance, hole countersunk depth and hole diameter tolerance, on the quality of formed rivet. The quality of a formed rivet is determined by the geometry of its head formation and the extent to which the hole is filled. The study determines maximum allowable tolera...
متن کاملSelf-sustained slip pulses of (nite size between dissimilar materials
The problem of a steady-state slip pulse of (nite size between dissimilar materials is studied. It is shown that for a Coulomb friction law, there is a continuous set of possible solutions for any slip propagation velocity and any slip length. These solutions are, however, nonphysical because they show a singular behaviour of the slip velocity at one extremity of the pulse, which implies a crac...
متن کاملFretting Behavior of SPR Joining Dissimilar Sheets of Titanium and Copper Alloys
The fretting performance of self-piercing riveting joining dissimilar sheets in TA1 titanium alloy and H62 copper alloy was studied in this paper. Load-controlled cyclic fatigue tests were carried out using a sine waveform and in tension-tension mode. Scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray techniques were employed to analyze the fretting failure mechanisms of the joints. The e...

Fatigue strength of cross-shaped specimens of SPR joints made of SPCC was evaluated at load angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°. For the static strength at load angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°, the maximum loads were determined to be 4890N, 1969N, and 1611N, respectively. Regarding for the relationship between the load amplitude and the number of cycles (Nf), the results were 014 . 0 3 . 2209 − = f amp N P ,...
