متن کاملShort-pulse laser-produced plasmas
In this review, the physics of short-pulse laser-produced plasmas at moderate intensities is described, together with applications to x-ray sources and material processing.
متن کاملShort-pulse electromagnetic scattering from arbitrarily oriented subsurface ordnance
A rigorous method-of-moments (MoM) analysis is used to model wide-band scattering from general three-dimensional perfectly conducting objects buried in a lossy layered medium. Here, we focus on ordnance buried in a half space (soil). The time-domain fields scattered from a tilted antitank mine are examined in detail as a function of polarization and observation position.
متن کاملUltrahigh peak power production from compact short-pulse laser systems
Introduction of chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) enabled the latest revolution in production of high peak powers from lasers through amplification of very short (femtosecond) laser pulses to pulse energies previously available only from long-pulse lasers. CPA has rapidly bridged the gap from its initial modest demonstrations to multi-terawatt and petawattscale systems in research facilities an...
متن کاملEmission from charge recombination during the pulse radiolysis of arylethynylpyrenes.
Emission from several 1-(arylethynyl)pyrenes with a substituent on the aryl group (REPy, R = phenyl (PEPy), 4-dimethylaminophenyl (NPEPy), 4-isopropoxyphenyl (OPEPy), 2-quinonyl (QEPy), and 9-(10-cyanoanthracenyl) (AEPy)) was studied with time-resolved fluorescence measurements during pulse radiolysis in benzene. NPEPy and AEPy showed only monomer emission, while PEPy, OPEPy, and QEPy showed bo...
