Electromagnetic induction: How the “flux rule” has superseded Maxwell's general law

چکیده
As documented by textbooks, the teaching of electromagnetic induction in university and high school courses is primarily based on what Feynman labeled as “flux rule,” downgrading it from status physical law. However, Maxwell derived a “general law induction” which vector potential plays fundamental role. A modern reformulation Maxwell's can be easily obtained defining induced electromotive force [Formula: see text], where text] velocity positive charges which, convention, are current carriers. did not possess model for electric current. Therefore, his law, he took to circuit element containing charges. This paper aims show that governs induction, rule” but only calculation shortcut does always yield correct predictions. also tries understand why has been ignored, how taken root. Finally, section dedicated this schools elementary physics courses.

A general law for electromagnetic induction
The definition of the induced emf as the integral over a closed loop of the Lorentz force acting on a unit positive charge leads immediately to a general law for electromagnetic induction phenomena. The general law is applied to three significant cases: moving bar, Faraday’s and Corbino’s disc. This last application illustrates the contribution of the drift velocity of the charges to the induce...

RISE (Domingos 1995; in press) is a rule induction algorithm that proceeds by gradually generalizing rules, starting with one rule per example. This has several advantages compared to the more common strategy of gradually specializing initially null rules, and has been shown to lead to significant accuracy gains over algorithms like CGRULES and CN2 in a large number of application domains. Howe...
متن کاملHas MRD monitoring superseded other prognostic factors in adult ALL?
Significant improvements have been made in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) during the past 2 decades, and measurement of submicroscopic (minimal) levels of residual disease (MRD) is increasingly used to monitor treatment efficacy. For a better comparability of MRD data, there are ongoing efforts to standardize MRD quantification using real-time quantitative PCR of clonal imm...
متن کاملThe rule of Mitigation of Damages in Medical Law and the Influence of Religious Beliefs in Applying this Rule (Comparative Study with American Law)
When one hurts or sustains a loss or damage due to harmful act, he or she shouldn't be motionless and after that, claim restitution but should act reasonably and do his or her best for blocking or decreasing of loss. The question is. Can this rule also apply to medical law? When patient hurts or subject to hurt because of physician's or other related persons' mistake, injured person should do a...
