Thermodynamic and electrochemical properties of actinides in molten fluoride salts are one the key data required for design safety assessment any salt reactor concept using liquid based fuel. In case Molten Salt Fast Reactor (MSFR), special attention has to be paid thorium fluoride, which is a direct fuel carrier constituent. This work presents experimental measurement ThF4 activity coefficient eutectic LiF-CaF2 melt by techniques. The proposed approach overcoming problems related lack thermodynamic reference electrode high-temperature media. method can used compare stability fissile material fission products given solvent estimating their coefficients described measurements. addition, methods were successfully evaluate confirm purity materials, with regard oxygen content input synthesised during previous from ThO2.
