Electric and Magnetic Fields Effects in Vertically Coupled GaAs/AlxGa1−xAs Conical Quantum Dots

Vertically coupled quantum dots have emerged as promising structures for various applications such single photon sources, entangled pairs, computation, and cryptography. We start with a structure composed of two vertically GaAs conical surrounded by AlxGa1−x, the effects applied electric magnetic fields on energies are evaluated using finite element method. In addition, including presence shallow-donor impurity. The electron binding energy behavior is analyzed, photoionization cross-section studied. Calculations carried out in effective mass parabolic conduction band approximations. Our results show notable dependence to cross-section. general, it has been observed that both useful parameters inducing blueshifts resonant structure, which accompanied drop its magnitude.
