Dynamical mean - eld studies
We discuss the successes of the dynamical mean eld (DMF) approach to metal insulator transitions in both the clean and the disordered limit. In the latter case, standard DMF equations are generalized in order to incorporate both the physics of strong correlation and Anderson localization eeects. The results show remarkable agreement with many puzzling features of doped semiconductors.

To achieve the scientiic goals it is argued that the eld size should be >20 0 and the array should be at least 6K 6K. The imager should incorporate tip/tilt compensation and automatic focus controls to be competitive with the performance of other 4 and 8m class telescopes.
