Elastodynamics Field of Non-Uniformly Moving Dislocation: From 3D to 2D

چکیده

Molecular dynamics (MD) and experiments indicate that the high-speed dislocations dominate plasticity properties of crystal materials under high strain rate. New physical features arise accompanied with increase in dislocation speed, such as “Lorentz contraction” effect moving screw dislocation, anomalous nucleation, annihilation interaction. The static description is no longer applicable. elastodynamics fields non-uniformly are significantly temporal spatially coupled. corresponding mathematical formulas stress three-dimensional (3D) two-dimensional (2D) look quite different. To clarify these differences, we disclose origin their connections, which inherently associated different spatial decoupling strategies through 2D 3D Green tensor. In this work, fundamental relationship between established, has enlightening significance for establishing general theory, developing a numerical calculation method based on elastodynamics, revealing more influences macroscopic materials.

The gauge theory of dislocations: a uniformly moving screw dislocation

In this paper we present the equations of motion of a moving screw dislocation in the framework of the translation gauge theory of dislocations. In the gauge field theoretical formulation, a dislocation is a massive gauge field. We calculate the gauge field theoretical solutions of a uniformly moving screw dislocation. We give the subsonic and supersonic solutions. Thus, supersonic dislocations...

2d Elastodynamics of an Interface Crack

The rapid development of different areas of engineering, creation of new structures make the computational fracture mechanics a topic area. Among the most important applied problems there are structural strength problems, complicated by various flaws (cracks, delaminations, etc). The presence of cracks and delaminations considerably decreases the strength and the lifetime of the composite struc...

An efficient hybrid 2D/3D thin film discrete dislocation dynamics

Crystalline thin fi lms are increasingly used in semiconductor devices, ferroelectric and ferromagnetic devices, biomedical components, fuel cells, solar cells, and wear-resistant coatings. Given their widespread use, understanding the unique mechanisms that control their properties is critical. This has proven challenging because the properties of thin fi lms do not obey bulk scaling laws. In ...

From 2D Lithography to 3D Patterning

Lithography as developed for IC device fabrication is a high volume high accuracy patterning technology with strong 2 dimensional (2D) characteristics. This 2D nature makes it a challenge to integrate this technology in a 3 dimensional (3D) manufacturing environment. This article addresses the performance of a waferstepper (ASML PAS5000) in several 3D processes ranging form waferbonding and thi...
