چکیده

Sampling of six horizons quartz-glauconite sands in Kaniv dislocations Ukraine yielded more than three thousand vertebrate specimens, including elasmobranch teeth, chimaera dental plates, actinopterygian and sauropsid teeth bones. Our study represents the first illustrated detailed description from Ukrainian Albian deposits since Rogovich (1861), whose specimens were still preserved collections Kiev National Natural History Museum Academy Sciences Ukraine. Twenty-three species belonging to eight orders identified our samplings some Rogovich's material. This paper provides new data on systematics Cretaceous elasmobranchs assesses taxonomic status species. Sampled assemblages include hybodonts, synechodontiforms, hexanchiforms, squaliforms, squatinifroms, orectolobiforms, heterodontiforms lamniforms. The latter dominate assemblages, both terms number with small odontaspidid species, early pseudoscapanorhynchids archaeolamnids as well large carnivorous sharks Cretoxyrhina Cretolamna. Most importantly, Paraisurus macrorhizus vraconensis findings indicate a late age for sampled deposits, which so far considered Albian–Cenomanian.

A Therian from the Lower Cretaceous (albian) of Texas

Mammals of metatherian-eutherian grade are represented in a collection recovered from a Wise County, Texas, locality of Lower Cretaceous (Albian) age. The form, or forms, are distinctly primitive as evidenced by the very small low protocones, large stylar cusps, and wide stylar shelf. The presence of well-developed and separate metacones at such an early date would seem to place Deltatheridium ...

New Mid-Cretaceous (Latest Albian) Dinosaurs from Winton, Queensland, Australia

BACKGROUND Australia's dinosaurian fossil record is exceptionally poor compared to that of other similar-sized continents. Most taxa are known from fragmentary isolated remains with uncertain taxonomic and phylogenetic placement. A better understanding of the Australian dinosaurian record is crucial to understanding the global palaeobiogeography of dinosaurian groups, including groups previousl...

Microbiostratigraphy of the Lower Cretaceous strata from South East of Maragheh, NW Iran

For the microbiostratigraphical studies, a stratigraphical section (named Dareh-Goshayesh) has been selected in southeast of Maragheh, Northwestern Iran. The thickness of successions in the selected stratigraphic section is measured about 223.6 m. The mentioned studied stratigraphic section is composed of two clastic and carbonate units. This succession unconformably overlies the Lar Formation ...

Physico-chemical analysis of Albian (Lower Cretaceous) amber from San Just (Spain): implications for palaeoenvironmental and palaeoecological studies

Amber from a Lower Cretaceous outcrop at San Just, located in the Eastern Iberian Peninsula (Escucha Formation, Maestrat Basin), was investigated to evaluate its physico-chemical properties. Thermogravimetric (TG) and Differential Thermogravimetric (DTG) analyses, infra-red spectroscopy, elemental and C-isotope analyses were performed. Physico-chemical differences between the internal light nuc...

The Basal Nodosaurid Ankylosaur Europelta carbonensis n. gen., n. sp. from the Lower Cretaceous (Lower Albian) Escucha Formation of Northeastern Spain

Nodosaurids are poorly known from the Lower Cretaceous of Europe. Two associated ankylosaur skeletons excavated from the lower Albian carbonaceous member of the Escucha Formation near Ariño in northeastern Teruel, Spain reveal nearly all the diagnostic recognized character that define nodosaurid ankylosaurs. These new specimens comprise a new genus and species of nodosaurid ankylosaur and repre...
