Egocentric Network Exploration for Immersive Analytics

To exploit the potential of immersive network analytics for engaging and effective exploration, we promote metaphor “Egocentrism”, where data depiction interaction are adapted to perspective user within a 3D network. Egocentrism has overcome some inherent downsides virtual environments, e.g., visual clutter cyber-sickness. investigate effect this on designed evaluated interfaces varying degrees Egocentrism. In study, these search tasks, efficiency traversal, spatial orientation, as well Results show that simple Egocentric interface considerably improves navigation performance, yet does not decrease orientation or increase An occlusion-free Ego-Bubble view neighborhood only marginally user's performance. We tie our findings together in an open online tool providing actionable insights benefits exploration metaphor.
