EFL students’ challenges in English-medium business programmes: Perspectives from students and content teachers

The overarching aim of this study was to investigate EFL students’ challenges in English-medium business programmes from the perspectives both students and content teachers. English medium instruction (EMI) has been increasingly used higher education institutions as second/foreign language (ESL/EFL) contexts around world. Consequently, there a growing body research reporting experiences EMI teachers utilizing EMI, particularly European contexts. However, is little attention given Middle East North sub-Saharan African This paper duly reports findings large on an Master Business Administration (MBA) programme Sudan. A qualitative ethnographically-oriented methodology adopted involving three methods data collection namely, interviews, classroom observations analysis some documentary data. Twenty-one MBA ten subject took part investigation. Results showed that experienced range which were reportedly perceived have impacted academic performance negatively. Pedagogical implications for purposes (EAP) are presented discussed.
