Efficient systematic turbo polar decoding based on optimized scaling factor and early termination mechanism

In this paper, an efficient early termination (ET) mechanism for systematic turbo-polar code (STPC) based on optimal estimation of scaling factor (SF) is proposed. The gradient the regression line which best fits distance between a priori and extrinsic information used to estimate SF. multiplication by proposed SF presents effectiveness in resolving correlation issue intrinsic reliability traded two typical parallel concatenated soft-cancellation (SCAN) decoders. It shown that has improved conventional STPC about 0.3 dB with interleaver length 64 bits, 1 over polar (SPC) at bit error rate (BER) . A new scheme as stopping criterion, mainly estimated value second component decoder decoded frozen bits each decoding iteration. ET results halving average number iterations (ANI) without adding considerable complexity. Moreover, modified codes present comparable terms BER utilize fix iterations.
