چکیده
Localization of aeroacoustic sound sources in open jet wind tunnel experiments requires an accurate prediction the acoustic propagation time. Most conventional predictions use either a ray-tracer, coupled with modelled continuous velocity field, or ray diffraction and discretization field by means vortex sheets. In this work novel method is proposed which discretized into blocks constant separated discontinuities, thus removing requirement for to be parallel surface that separates blocks. The solved minimization computational effort low compared ray-tracing methods while maintaining improvement accuracy methodologies using A specific derived models self-similar shear layer expanding asymmetrically from rectangular nozzle. Subsequently, compute rays. Experimental results loudspeaker source placed large industrial showed decrease localization uncertainty techniques based on This attributed inclusion slanting.

Use of Stochastic Turbulence Models in Jet Acoustics
There are many approaches to determine the sound propagated from turbulent flows. In hybrid methods, the turbulent noise source field is computed or modeled separately from the far-field calculations. To have an initial and quick estimation of the sound propagation, less computationally intensive methods can be developed using stochastic models of the turbulent fluctuations. In this paper, ...
متن کاملBoundary layer (shear-band) in frustrated viscoplastic flows
We show that frustrated creep flows of yield stress fluids give rise to a boundary layer, which takes the form of a liquid region of uniform significant thickness separating two solid regions. In this boundary layer the shear rate is approximately constant for a given flow rate and the layer thickness extremely slowly varies with the flow rate. Yield stress fluids such as concentrated colloids,...
متن کاملLower branch equilibria in Couette flow: the emergence of canonical states for arbitrary shear flows
We consider the development of nonlinear three-dimensional vortex–wave interaction equilibria of laminar plane Couette flow for a range of spanwise wavenumbers. The results are computed using a hybrid approach that captures the required asymptotic structure while at the same time providing a direct link with full numerical calculations of equilibrium states. Each equilibrium state consists of a...
