Efficient Angle Estimation for MIMO Systems via Redundancy Reduction Representation

چکیده

This paper proposes an efficient direction of departure (DOD) and arrival (DOA) estimation method for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. For uncorrelated scenarios, the redundancy covariance matrix is first exploited by establishing its concise representation through reduction, which transforms original large-size into a smaller-size without loss useful angle information. Then, resulting transformed matrix, retains salient structure, permits two-dimensional (2D) estimators working on reduced-size problem DOD DOA estimation. Compared with conventional subspace-based methods, proposed incorporating appropriate 2D estimator more computationally can achieve higher accuracy small numbers snapshots low signal-to-noise ratios, are verified simulation results.
