چکیده

Lentil collar rot disease caused by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. is an important causing significant yield loss in Nepal. Seven Trichoderma spp. isolates collected from different regions of Nepal were tested for their capacity to inhibit mycelial growth in-vitro condition. Experiment was conducted Completely Randomized Design with four replications the plant pathology laboratory Grain Legumes Research Program, Khajura, Banke during 2020. Dual culture method performed assess efficacy isolates. inhibited S. various degrees ranging 48.33-72.47% after 120 hours inoculation. Maximum colony inhibition (72.47%) obtained Kapilvastu isolate followed Nepalgunj (67.72%). Minimum (48.33%) Mangalpur, Chitwan Rampur, (49.33%). Among seven isolates, two (Kapilbastu and Nepalgunj) showed good antagonistic activity against also highly competitive These would therefore be useful biological management.

Selection of high temperature and salinity tolerant Trichoderma isolates with antagonistic activity against Sclerotium rolfsii

Trichoderma isolates were collected from varied agro-climatic zones of India and screened for high temperature and salinity tolerance. Among all the isolates tested, T. asperellum, TaDOR673 was highly tolerant to heat shock of 52°C with a mean spore count (log c.f.u/ml) of 4.33. The isolate after recovery from heat shock possessed higher germination rate and biomass production compared to its w...

Induction of Sexual Stage and Colony Morphology of Some Isolates of Sclerotium rolfsii Causing Spotted Leaf Rot in Plants

Twenty-two isolates of Sclerotium rolfsii causing spotted leaf rot from Varanasi, India were grown on 6% Cyperus rotundus rhizome meal agar (CRMA) medium for the induction of athelial stage (Athelia rolfsii). Only one isolate obtained from Sphaeranthus indicus formed basidial stage on CRMA medium while the other 21 isolates did not. Basidial stage was also produced in S. indicus isolate at diff...

Stem Rot of Garlic (Allium sativum) Caused by Sclerotium rolfsii

Stem rot disease was found in garlic (Allium sativum L.) cultivated from 2008 to 2010 in the vegetable gardens of some farmers in Geumsan-myon, Jinju City, Gyeongnam province in Korea. The initial symptoms of the disease were typical water-soaked spots, which progressed to rotting, wilting, blighting, and eventually death. White mycelial mats had spread over the lesions near the soil line, and ...

First Report of Sclerotium Rot on Cymbidium Orchids Caused by Sclerotium rolfsii in Korea

Sclerotium rot was found on Cymbidium orchids at Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea, in July, 2010. Symptoms occurred on low leaves, which turned yellowish, after which the entire plant wilted. Severely infected plants were blighted and eventually died. White mycelial mats and sclerotia appeared on pseudobulbs. Based on the mycological characteristics and pathogenicity, the causal fungus was i...
