چکیده
Objective: This research aims to compare the effectiveness of intrathecal bupivacaine combined with dexmedetomidine alone in patients having caesarian procedures. Methods: randomized, controlled study was conducted at operation theatre Liaquat national hospital, agreement hospital's institutional review board. There were 272 total, and they split evenly two groups 136 using non-probability consecutive sampling technique. Group A: Patients received subarachnoid block (2 ml 0.5 % hyperbaric 10 micrograms normal saline). B: L3-L4 or L4-L5 inter-vertebral space). Before induction anaesthesia, patient's systolic blood pressure (BP), diastolic mean arterial (MAP), heart rate (HR), peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (SPO2) will be monitored Results: The age participants both 27.14±5.3 25.9±3.65 years. A significant difference as observed 15-, 45- 60-minutes interval (p=0.000). time from blocks shivering occurrence 57.08±3.8 81.03±2.8minutes. (P=0.000) observed. 49% experienced while 24% group B. Conclusion: From our findings, we infer that adding 10µg strong SA may reduce frequency severity without causing any serious side effects.

Background and Objectives: The correct management of delivery and anesthesia hs important for maternal and fetal health outcome during cesarean section. The aim of this study was to compare the effect os spinal anesthesia with bupivacaine and ropivacaine on the hemodynamic parameters of pregnant women during cesarean section. Methods: This study was a randomized double blinded clinical trial o...
متن کاملA Study to Compare the Analgesic Efficacy of Intrathecal Bupivacaine Alone with Intrathecal Bupivacaine Midazolam Combination in Patients Undergoing Elective Infraumbilical Surgery
Spinal anaesthesia, which is one of the techniques for infraumbilical surgeries, is most commonly criticized for limited duration of postoperative analgesia. Several adjuvants have been tried along with local anesthetic for prolonging the duration of analgesia. In this study, we have observed the effect of midazolam as an adjuvant in patients undergoing infraumbilical surgery. In this prospecti...
متن کاملCombined intrathecal morphine and bupivacaine for cesarean section.
The effects of adding 0.2 mg preservative-free morphine sulfate in 0.2 ml solution to hyperbaric spinal bupivacaine were evaluated in a double-blind randomized prospective study of 34 patients undergoing elective repeat cesarean section. In the control patients (n = 17), 0.2 ml saline instead of morphine was added to bupivacaine. The intrathecal morphine significantly improved intra- and postop...
متن کاملIntrathecal Dexmedetomidine and Fentanyl as Adjuvant to Bupivacaine on Duration of Spinal Block in Addicted Patients
BACKGROUND Addicted patients have innate tolerance to local anesthetics in both neuraxial and peripheral blocks. Dexmedetomidine (Dex) is a highly selective α2 adrenergic receptor agonist used as additive to increase quality and duration of peripheral nerve blocks. OBJECTIVES The current study aimed to compare the effect of dexmedetomidine and fentanyl additives on bupivacaine to prolong the ...
متن کاملComparison of intrathecal bupivacaine, levobupivacaine for cesarean section.
BACKGROUND Some investigators found a greater incidence of hypotension in patients receiving intrathecal hyperbaric solution than in patients receiving plain solution for cesarean section. OBJECTIVE Compare the effects of intrathecal hyperbaric bupivacaine 10 mg with intrathecal bupivacaine 11 mg and intrathecal levobupivacaine 11 mg, all with 10 microg of fentanyl, for cesarean section. MA...
