Efficacy of blunt abdominal trauma scoring system in management of blunt abdominal trauma

Background: Although there are many scores to evaluate a patient having trauma, BATSS is newer score specifically designed for blunt abdominal trauma which not adequately studied. The objective was study the efficacy of by comparing it with conventional experience-based management Blunt trauma.Methods: 100 patients presenting between March 2019 May 2020 were randomly selected. Patients treated and compared guided prospective observation. Analysis done assessing need CT scan abdomen laparotomy check BATSS.Results:100 included in study. Abdomen rarely required low-risk category (BATSS<8, p <0.0001). In Moderate High-risk (BATSS>8), accurately identify Intra-abdominal injury (p=0.0006 0.0965 respectively). Laparotomy may be necessary any risk hollow viscous perforation. does have variable like X-ray-Chest standing diagnose So, some Low-risk also (p 0.06892) indicated BATSS. Not all high-risk needs (p=0.00009).Conclusions: Variables used severity inadequate would improperly categorised scoring system. we conclude that useful our setup requires modifications.
