Effects of Salinity Stress on Drip-Irrigated Tomatoes Grown under Mediterranean-Type Greenhouse Conditions

چکیده
Plant tolerance to salinity stress is vital for irrigation scheduling, decision-making, planning and operation, water resource management. This study aimed investigate the effects of on use, growth, physiology, yield parameters drip-irrigated tomatoes in two different growing seasons. In addition control (0.7 dS m−1), three levels: 2.5 (low), 5.0 (moderate), 7.5 (high) m−1 were used. both seasons, autumn 2021 spring 2022, increased salinities caused an increase soil salinity, while a decrease seasonal crop evapotranspiration. heights did not show significant differences under levels 2021, meaningful difference among treatments was found 2022. Marketable total tomato yields, leaf area index showed decreases Stomatal conductance affected by levels. The salt models marketable fruit yields low threshold slope value contrasting with high determined results suggest that should be considered, as well value, decision making production at

Plasticity of leaf anatomy, chemistry and water economy of irrigated sugar beets grown under Mediterranean conditions
In a three-year (2004-2006), field experiment, we aimed to study changes in leaf physiological traits (leaf water potential-Ψleaf, leaf water content-LWC, carbon isotope discrimination-Δ, specific leaf area-SLA, chlorophyll content as assessed by SPAD and modified SPAD-MSPAD) and elemental composition (K, Na, Ca, Mg, K/Na, Ca/Mg, total leaf salinity-TLS) of sugar beets (cv. Rizor) grown unde...

‘Smyrna’ type figs (Zidi ‘ZD’: dark fruit and Thgagli ‘THG’; Bidhi ‘BD’ and Khedri ‘KHD’: white fruit) originated from two areas of fig production in Tunisia were subject to physico-chemical description and spectrophotometric analysis for their sugar (glucose, fructose and sucrose) and organic acid (citric and malic) contents. Fruit weight ranged between 54 and 82 g, fruit width between 47 and ...
متن کاملEffect on Quality Characteristics of Tomatoes Grown Under Well-Watered and Drought Stress Conditions
Tomatoes are one of the most nutritionally and economically important crops in New Zealand and around the world. Tomatoes require large amounts of water to grow well and are adversely affected by drought stress. However, few studies have evaluated the physicochemical characteristics of commercial tomatoes grown under water stress conditions. Four tomato cultivars (Incas, Marmande, Scoresby Dwar...
متن کاملNitrogen effects on yield, quality and K/Na selectivity of sugar beets grown on clays under semi-arid, irrigated conditions
In a four-year experiment, five nitrogen rates (0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 kg N ha-1) were tested over irrigated sugar beets grown on clays, underMediterranean conditions, in centralGreece. There, sugar beets are commonly grown under water shortages, high temperatures and high soil Na concentrations. Contrary to previous reports, N rates did not affect significantly population density (as asse...
