چکیده
Fasting is a standard preoperative procedure performed to prevent vomiting and pulmonary aspiration during anaesthesia surgery. However, fasting can cause postoperative physical psychological discomfort. Intake of oral carbohydrate (CHO) may mimic the intake food, which prevents We conducted meta-analysis evaluate effect safety CHO in adult surgical patients. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were searched for PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library databases. A was calculate pooled size by using random-effects models. Early versus traditional postoperative oral feeding in patients undergoing elective colorectal surgery: a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
BACKGROUND The safety and effectiveness of early oral feeding after colorectal surgery has not been determined. We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate surgical outcomes following early oral feeding compared with traditional oral feeding in patients undergoing elective colorectal surgery. METHODS MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched to identif...

INTRODUCTION The systematic meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluated the effects of intraoperative ulinastatin on early-postoperative recovery in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. METHODS RCTs comparing intraoperative ulinastatin with placebo in cardiac surgery were searched through PubMed, Cochrane databases, Medline, SinoMed, and the China National Knowledge Infrast...
متن کاملA carbohydrate-rich drink reduces preoperative discomfort in elective surgery patients.
UNLABELLED We studied the effects of different preoperative oral fluid protocols on preoperative discomfort, residual gastric fluid volumes, and gastric acidity. Two-hundred-fifty-two elective abdominal surgery patients (ASA physical status I-II) were randomized to preparation with a 12.5% carbohydrate drink (CHO), placebo (flavored water), or overnight fasting. The CHO and Placebo groups were ...
متن کاملA Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials Comparing the Safety of Dapagliflozin in Type 1 Diabetes Patients
Background and Purpose: The dapagliflozin’s safety profile in insulin-treated adult type-1 diabetes mellites (T1DM) patients remains poorly explored. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis compared the risk of all-cause side effects, study discontinuation of participants due to side effects, urinary tract infection (UTI), diabetic ketoacidosis, and hypoglycemia between dapagliflozi...
متن کاملThoracic epidural anesthesia improves outcomes in patients undergoing cardiac surgery: meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
To assess the efficacy of thoracic epidural anesthesia (TEA) with or without general anesthesia (GA) versus GA in patients who underwent cardiac surgery, PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane online database, and Web of Science were searched with the limit of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) relevant to 'thoracic epidural anesthesia' and 'cardiac surgery'. Studies were identified and data were extrac...
