چکیده
Background: Parturition depression is an important physiological problem, and several attempts have been made to ascertain this phenomenon. Natural monoterpenes like α-pinene numerous beneficial properties, but no studies done on their antidepressant potential in postpartum animals. Objectives: This study aimed determine the effects of prenatal administration antidepressant-like behavior mice following delivery. Methods: Pregnant female were randomly assigned into four groups. In control group, animals injected with saline 5, 8, 11, 14, 17 gestation days (GD). groups 2 4, pregnant (0.1, 0.5, 1 mg/kg, respectively) at GD 17. On day postpartum, open field test (OFT), rotarod, forced swimming (FST), tail suspension (TST) used evaluate activity mice. Also, serum samples taken antioxidant activity. Results: According results, (0.5 mg/kg) significantly increased OFT staying rotarod (P≤0.05). diminished immobility time (s) TST FST decreased malondialdehyde while glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, total status levels as compared group Conclusion: It seems that can alleviate via its property

Effects of Hesperidin During Pregnancy on Antidepressant-like behaviour in Postpartum Mice
BACKGROUND:Post-partum depression is the most prevalent form of mental illness and herbal therapies are potential alternatives and adjuncts for its treatment. Hesperidin is the major flavonoid isolated from cit- rus fruits which has neuroprotective, antioxidant and antidepressant activity. OBJECTIVES: We studied the effect of exposure to Hesperidin during pregnancy on postpartum antide- pressan...
متن کاملNanocurcumine Ameliorates Lipopolysaccharide-induced Depressive-like Behavior in Mice
Objective(s): Curcumin, a plant alkaloid from Curcuma longa, possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Recently, the antidepressant activities of curcumin were reported. Nevertheless, bioavailability of curcumin limits its therapeutic utility. Nanotechnology is a developing field that potentially enhances bioavailability and the plasma concentration of curcumin. This study investiga...
متن کاملEffects of hydrogen-rich water on depressive-like behavior in mice.
Emerging evidence suggests that neuroinflammation and oxidative stress may be major contributors to major depressive disorder (MDD). Patients or animal models of depression show significant increase of proinflammatory cytokine interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and oxidative stress biomarkers in the periphery or central nervous system (CNS). Recent studies show that hydrogen selectively reduces cytotoxic o...
متن کاملThe effect of lansoprazole administration during pregnancy on the placenta
Introduction: Lansoprazole is one of the proton pump inhibitor drugs widely used in the treatment of gastro-duodenal ulcers and disorders. However, there is not enough data about unexplored adverse effects of lansoprazole on the integrity of the placental barrier. Therefore, the present study was conducted to determine whether placental structure could be affected by lansoprazole administrati...
