چکیده

In this paper, we experimentally investigated two high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (HT-PEMFC) stacks for their response to the presence of reformate impurities in an anode gas stream. The investigation was aimed at characterizing effects stack level, including humidified conditions and identifying fault features diagnosis purposes. Two HT-PEMFC 37 cells each with active areas 165 cm2 were used one containing a pre-doped woven diffusion layer (GDL) other post-doped non-woven GDL. Polarization curves galvanostatic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) characterization. We found that both N2 dilution feed affected mainly charge transfer losses, especially on side. also humidification alleviated poisoning electrode assemblies (MEA) GDL but had detrimental MEAs demonstrated pure dry hydrogen operation end tests resulted significant recovery performance losses due even after operation. This implies there only limited acid loss during test period around 150 h stack.

the role of reaction parameter on leaching of sio2 doped nafion membrane for use in high temperature pem fuel cells

the nafion 117 membrane was doped with sio2 particles by sol-gel reaction. the reaction conditions to minimize leaching were investigated by using full factorial design of experiment. the results from the full factorial analysis indicated that the lowest amount of leaching takes place at 60oc without addition of acid and swelling of membranes prior to the reaction. the membranes, prepared at op...

A Simple Thermal Model of Pem Fuel Cell Stacks

A simple model is developed that determines the temperature distribution through a unit fuel cell with straight flow channels, in steady state operation. Using the large aspect ratio of the typical fuel cell geometry, the thermal model approximately decouples cross-plane thermal transport at each channel location. Using the fact that in-plane thermal conductivities are much larger than through-...

Preparation of Nitrogen-Doped Graphene By Solvothermal Process as Supporting Material for Fuel Cell Catalysts

Development of efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is one of the most important issues for optimizing the performance of fuel cells and metal-air batteries. The introduction of nitrogen into carbon nanostructures has created new pathways for the development of non-precious electrocatalysts in fuel cells. In this work, nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) was synthesized by a ...
