Effects of heat treatment and high-temperature oxidation on 3D-printed Inconel718 alloy

In the present paper, Inconel 718 alloy was prepared by direct metal laser sintering. The bare post-processed through different heat-treatment routes, and changes in its metallurgical microstructural properties were investigated. comparison to alloy, grains overlapping region of heat-treated alloys became refined. strengthening phase γ’ γ” precipitations high alloys. Furthermore, cyclic oxidation studies conducted on samples at 1000°C. variation mass change per unit area corresponding corrosion mechanism explored. Moreover, formation surface oxides under influence each alloying element discussed. Chromium mainly formed during oxidation, increased with these oxides. Therefore, an appropriate plan is highly recommended prevent from continuous degradation oxide formation.
