Effects of Different Tillage Practices on Soil Stability and Erodibility for Red Soil Sloping Farmland in Southern China

چکیده

Tillage practices significantly influence soil nutrient retention, structure, and stability. However, the impact of tillage on stability erosion resistance through perturbation approach structure remains unclear. This study aimed to establish universal principles across slope surface profile scales. We evaluated effects various practices, including conventional (CT), compaction (CM), subsoil (ST), no (NT), (SCM) in China’s red hilly region. Soil stability, resistance, other properties were quantified using field surveys laboratory experiments. discovered significant variations aggregate (SAS), wet (WAS), mechanical (SMS), erodibility (SE) among five methods. The K factor’s average value indicated that 0–40 cm layer was more erodible for CT (0.472) than methods, with NT (0.26) being least erodible. (0.43) most effective treatment reducing SE, while SCM (0.41) enhanced fertility, controlled mitigated machinery-induced risks. CM (0.38) maintained without improving storage, ST (0.33) improved such as alleviating hardening caused by CM. results provide reference parameter values selecting appropriate methods decrease degradation enhancing productivity a

Tillage and soil quality Tillage practices for sustainable agriculture and environmental quality in different agroecosystems

For centuries tillage has been used to prepare suitable seedbed to grow crops, and to control weeds and incorporate fertilizers, pesticides, manures and other amendments. In early years conversion of native ecosystems by tillage helped to unlock nutrients stored in soil organic matter, and thus `mine' naturally fertile soils to grow crops with minimum inputs for the growing population. However,...

Mechanisms of Soil Aggregates Stability in Purple Paddy Soil under Conservation Tillage of Sichuan Basin, China

Abstract: Ridge culture is a special conservation tillage method, but the long-term influence of this tillage system on soil aggregate-size stability in paddy fields is largely unknown in southwest of china. The objectives of this paper are to evaluate soil aggregates stability and to determine the relationship between SOC and soil aggregate stability.Soil samples at 0-20 cm layer were adopted ...

Effect of Different Fertilizer Application on the Soil Fertility of Paddy Soils in Red Soil Region of Southern China

Appropriate fertilizer application is an important management practice to improve soil fertility and quality in the red soil regions of China. In the present study, we examined the effects of five fertilization treatments [these were: no fertilizer (CK), rice straw return (SR), chemical fertilizer (NPK), organic manure (OM) and green manure (GM)] on soil pH, soil organic carbon (SOC), total nit...

Effects of biological practices on soil stability in a desertified area of Iran

The rehabilitation of sandy desertified land in various dryland ecosystems by different management practices has a great potential to increase aggregate stability and improve soil quality. However, plants in general may have a different ability to sustain soil. The objective was to determine the effects of reclamation practices including Haloxylon ammodendron and Atriplex canescens plantation o...

Impacts of different tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yield under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions

Effects of six tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yields were evaluated for a clay soil (Typic Haploxererts) under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions in a three year study (2006-2009). The experiment was designed as a completely randomized-block with three replications. Treatments were: conventional tillage with residue incorporated (CT1), conventional tillage wi...
